Yeah, I got that too! I was really surprised! I thought they weren't gonna be back for a year or something. But don't me wrong, I'm super excited!

ReplyDeleteWish I had some happy thoughts for them. I bought a swimsuit online from their closeout sale in early October. They charted my bank account but I still haven't gotten the suit yet! I guess you could say I am bitter.

ReplyDeleteI knew they wouldn't be gone long. It didn't surprise me all that much. :) I am excited, but I hope they improve their selection/inventory.
ReplyDeleteI didn't get that email, but it would be great if they came back. I love their clothes. I just hope their quality doesn't change at all to keep their profit margins up. I always liked Shade because I felt their clothes were higher quality than many of the other 'modest' clothing stores out there.
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad shade is coming back. Don't get me wrong, I like Down East, but their style is a little too geared toward teenagers. I'm 21, so Shade is perfect for me, a little more adult, great quality and decent price point. Down East is really popular with young girls, so I always worry when I that I might show up to church wearing the same dress as a 12 year old. I'm really glad to see Shade come back, I would also be really happy if Down East made a line specifically geared toward 20's and 30's women.

I got the 411 from some former Shade employees last week. They were bought out by a company out of San Fran and have been working really hard on a new business concept and clothing designs. Apparently their new look is going to be pretty awesome! I am very much looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear Amy's 411. I called it and figured that's what would happen, but I was annoyed by the whole hoopla of the ordeal! Here's to hoping they're cute and stylish and affordable!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what happened to Layers Clothing? I liked their style a lot more than Shade (I also bought several items in their closeout sale and never received them).
ReplyDeleteI think it's kind of ridiculous honestly. I don't know what their business strategy is. I'm excited to have them back. Hope to see some more interesting items in their inventory. One person said Downeast is too juvenile. I think Shade can be a little too mature sometimes. A little bland too. I guess we have to wait and see.

@The Richmans - All I know about Layers is that they had a fire at a warehouse last year, and haven't been heard from much since. They had one big warehouse type sale some time after the fire, and that is all I know.
