15 Spring Trends You Already Own

As we all know, fashion is a cycle. It's a gift to our wallets that these very hot styles are things many of us already own. I found this great list of 15 spring trends we may already have at Stylebakery {link}:

Scarves
You may have invested in a lightweight scarf last summer or maybe have an old printed silk scarf in your closet. This is the a great season to drape it over cardigans, tees, and tanks.

Cardigans
A true wardrobe staple (and a personal favorite piece of mine), the cardigan happens to be super trendy right now. Whether boyfriend-style or short and ladylike, layer yours over just about anything. Add a belt to quickly pull together your look. See Academichic for some great cardigan examples on how to creatively wear cardigans.

Belts
Show off that waist! Thick or thin, belts are an essential accessory, instantly transforming virtually anything in your wardrobe. They can be used to to cinch t-shirts, blouses, dresses cardigans, jackets, and more. And my new favorite way for a belt to be used is as part of maternity wear (see this post for examples).

Chandelier Earrings
You probably have a pair of these hanging around. A few years ago, they were the jewelry must-have. Dig them out and wear them once again to add drama to your evening look.

Turquoise Jewelry
Every few years, turquoise jewelry regains its must-have status proving to be a wise investment for your collection. Lucky for you, this is the year. (This is great! I just bought a sweet turquoise necklace, and it's 'in' this season.)

Wedge Shoes
Still in style. Luckily you already have a pair or two, don't you?

Boyfriend Jeans
I don't know if I am totally sold on this whole boyfriend jean thing.... but lots of people are digging it, including Reachel at CE. This look is easy enough. Have an old pair of baggy jeans in your closet? Dig them out, roll the bottoms and wear them with ballet flats (best if you are tall) or heels (for the vertically challenged).

Metallic Accessories
Copper, gunmetal, silver, gold, or bronze, metallic accessories continue to be a hot trend.

Ruffles
If you purchased a pirate shirt (guilty as charged) or something else ruffled last year, you're in luck - ruffles are in again this season.

Chunky Bangles
Chunky bangles, the more colorful the better, are still chic. Wood and geometric styles are also hot.

Black and White Pieces
Surely you have something black and something white in your wardrobe, just pair them together.

Trench Coats
The one piece on every Top 10 list year after year is the trench coat. Hopefully you've got at least one by now - bonus points (for this season) if it's in a bright color. Don't own a trench? You should buy one (neutrals are best for long term use).

Pencil Skirts
If you don't already own one, a pencil skirt in a seasonless fabric is a piece that will get use season after season. This spring, pair it with something as simple as a t-shirt and a belt or a tank and cardigan.

Ballet Flats
According to Style Bakery, for more than 8 seasons in a row, the comfy chic ballet flat has been your go-to shoe for work and weekends. Bright colors, metallics, snakeskin and embellished styles are especially hot this spring.

Hobo Bags
If you have slouchy bag in your closet from seasons past, thankfully, it's back in style.

Do you guys have many of these things in your closets? Leave a comment and tell me what you think!

Thanks for reading,

Happy Digging!
